Making More and Stronger Disciples of Jesus Christ
Prayer MinistryROCKLEDGE UMC
Where Prayer matters and Prayer works!
Our prayer team is led by Karen Rousseau, a veteran prayer warrior and Bible teacher at RUMC. We also have different connection points for prayer in and through our weekly ministry. If you or someone you love needs prayer, please see any of the prayer opportunities below, and watch God move in your prayer life!
Wednesday Night Prayer Gathering
Join us every Wednesday night at 7 pm in the sanctuary for prayer and intercession. Jesus said
"My House shall be called a house of prayer." The prayer gathering consists of times of corporate,
individual and small group prayer. Come believing God for whatever needs you may have in your life. Healing prayer is available to the sick at every prayer gathering.
SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER
Our prayer team meets in the sanctuary at 7:30 each Sunday morning to pray for our worship services, those who serve in those services and all those who will be coming to RUMC that morning. You are welcome to join us for a time of seeking God's will and blessing for His people as we gather together in His house.
The altar is open for prayer after each Sunday morning service. Members of our prayer team are available to pray with you if you would like them to or you may spend a quiet moment in reflection.
WEEKLY VERSE
Visit this page each week for a special scripture that may be used as a starting point for your daily devotions. (Scripture taken from the New Revised Standard Version). Please feel to contact Karen at krousseau@rockledgeumc.com to let me know what your needs may be or what God is doing in your life!
Verse for week of 8/30
Ephesians 3:16-20
This is Paul's voice speaking to the church in Ephesus.
"I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowlede, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
As your week unfolds, I pray that the strength of God through His Holy Spirit will fill every cell of your body. Not just with physical strength to accomplish your daily tasks, but spiritual strength as you wrestle with a world that has a view different from yours. And go ahead, ask God; "how much do you love me?" and feel His arms open wide and hear His voice say; "THIS MUCH!"
PRAYER CHAINS
TELEPHONE:
The telephone prayer chain is currently active with 35 participants. Everyone is welcome to share in this fulfilling service to the congregation and community. Requests are given to the first person in the row and each person in that row makes one call, to the next person in the row. If you have a prayer chain request, please call the Prayer Coordinator, @ 632-7387 and leave a message.
EMAIL: "The email prayer chain - all prayer, all praise, all the time!" "We promise no forwards, just honest to goodness prayer needs and praise reports!" Send your prayer requests to Praywarrior1@aol.com. In the subject line please put "prayer request RUMC" and it will not hit my spam filter. (Please do not send forwards. Copy and paste a request.) You may request private prayer or your request can be shared with the email prayer chain. We welcome updates and praise reports for all prayer requests.
Look for a notice in an upcoming Sunday bulletin to update your email information. If you aren't a part of the email prayer chain and would like to be a part of this prayer ministry, the form will give you a chance to join!
* Prayer requests are not limited to the congregation or their families
PRAYER BOXES
In various locations around town, you will see prayer boxes where individuals may write down a prayer request and leave in the box. They are periodically picked up and brought to the prayer team. We will then lift the requests and/or needs to the Lord in prayer. If the person(s) have left contact information, we will follow-up. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact our prayer box coordinator at ptrawick@yahoo.com
CIRCLE OF CONCERN
If you have prayer concerns that you would like shared in our weekly church bulletin, please email the concern to prayer@rockledgeumc.com and your concern will receive prayer from our pastor and congregation in our worship services.
