Meet our Pastor and Staff Pastor, Theodore (Ted) E. Wood
Pastor Ted Wood grew up in a rural town in North Central Florida, where he met his wife, Kimberly, and married her in 1993. He received Christ in a small country church after hearing a teaching at youth group. He realized that his life was not complete without Christ, and subsequently led his future wife to Christ as well. This was only a foreshadowing of God's plan for his life, for he would come to point many to Christ in the following years.
After graduating, Pastor Ted ministered for several years in the Gainesville and surrounding areas of North Central Florida. In June 2002, he and his family moved to Rockledge, FL to pastor at Rockledge United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Kimberly, have three children: Joshua (10), Jeremiah (9), and Noelle (6). Pastor Ted and Kimberly are passionate about Jesus Christ and his plan for their ministry here in Rockledge. They enjoy ministering in a variety of settings including childrens ministry, feeding the hungry, music, Bible study, small groups, meeting practical needs, and reaching the community to name a few. Pastor Ted has a heart for God and for people. He sees the potential in people and longs to see God's plan lived out in their lives. He would love to assist you in any way to know God better and live a free life in Jesus Christ.

Brenda Thimlar - Director of Children & Youth Ministries Responding to God's call, Brenda has been the Youth Director since April, 2010. She has a heart for teens and communicates God's message to them using various methods, combining up to date technological skills with biblical truths. She is the mother of a 14 year old son and has resided in the Rockledge area since 1994. The Junior High youth meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 in the youth room in the Fellowship Hall. Come prepared for learning AND fun activities! Senior High youth meet on Sunday evenings at 6:00 in the youth room. This is a time of learning and fellowship. A long time member of RUMC, Karen has been on staff since August, 2010.
Assisting Pastor Ted in meeting the needs of the congregation, Karen is available for visitation/prayer needs and can be reached at krousseau@rockledgeumc.com or praywarrior1@aol.com. Her training as a Stephen Minister has given her additional insight into meeting the needs of people who need a safe place to talk about what is going on in their life. If you would like to place a prayer request on the email prayer chain, please contact Karen at either of the addresses provided.
Karen is a Certified Lay Speaker and is available to speak to small groups as her work schedule permits. (She is also employed by the Brevard County School Board.) She has taught the Basic Lay Servant course and conducted both worship and enrichment sessions at the Leesburg Women's Retreats.
Please contact her for information on the KING'S KIDS program being offered at Andersen Elementary School each Tuesday afternoon after school.
